Rescuer helps irate eagle tangled in deer’s remains in Metchosin

When Jeff Krieger was called to help a bird in trouble in Metchosin, he did not
expect to have to hike through the bush carrying a furious eagle and the remains
of a rotting deer carcass.....

It was an exciting day!!

Jeff Krieger from Alternative Wildlife Solutions releases an eagle from Westy Too a water taxi volunteered for the release by owned by Reg Kirkham near Thieves Bay on Pender Island. The eagle was being put into a supported position before it took off into the wind and returned into what was believed to be it's nest near by. A male eagle in a tree near by screeched as the female made it's way back to the area.
